…of stupid purchases that are too good to be true

Now this is what I call buyer’s remorse:

tweezers

I sometimes tweeze my eyebrows myself because I’m too cheap to shell out 5o bucks to have somebody shave/tweeze/pluck/thread it for me. Everyone knows how hard it is to tweeze eyebrows without good lighting and a mirror. You can’t do it lying down because then you’re handheld mirror would block the light and one is bound to miss few hairs even when you practically cross your eyes leaning to your mirror.

So when I saw this magnification tweezer from Landmark for P59.75 I decided to give this too-good-to-be-true a try.

Like all things too good to be true, this one was a disappointment. The point being of this post is to never buy anything if you already have a hunch it’s just going to end up as one of those doodads that you eventually dump in one of your old eyeglass cases which serve as a graveyard for “things that don’t really have a function but then might eventually come in handy in the distant future”.

Anyway, until then, when dieting, here’s a nice proverb to remember “A beautiful figure is worth more than a thousand beautiful dresses”. Sad, but true. Now, I hope I’ll remember that whenever I look at my thighs. Yes, I am insecure like that.
