Mission NatGeo Tshirt FAIL

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

I’m sad over a tshirt it’s ridiculous.

For the longest time I wanted a National Geographic “Live Curious”, “Ignorance is Boring” tshirt. And for a while it was sold in Regatta for around P400.

I didn’t know.

In my defense I was exhausted from work last November and December, and those months were particularly taxing, depressing, mind-boggling, hair-raising, scalp-hurting, skin-scalding, incredibly annoying that it hurt me physically, headache inducing, brought-out-the-possible-murderous-instincts-out-of-me, stressful, sad months for me.

So yeah, you get the picture.

I wasn’t able to buy THE shirt. I didn’t know. And I woke up and suddenly it was January 2011 and Regatta phased out the Tshirt.

Now, my boss told me that National Geographic has a store in Singapore. And turns out we have some business-related matters in Singapore and he needed to go (I wasn’t able to go because somebody had to hold down the fort). I told him to purchase me three of the shirts, one for me, one for the boyfriend and one for the Gremlin brother.

So imagine my horror when he texted from Singapore “It’s SG$65 (roughly P2,200), you want me to still buy it for you?”.

In the negative of course. Under no circumstances will I spend that much on a shirt. So I have to content myself with living the slogans instead of living AND wearing it. But yeah, I’m still stupidly depressed over a shirt.

Anyway, a friend gave me a L’Oreal eye pallet and I’m excited to use it tomorrow. Will tell you all bout it in my next entry.

Wing it

Monday, September 14th, 2009

If you have noticed in my rare photos I post of myself, I usually wear a necklace with a wings pendant. It’s kind of my signature accessory. Here’s me with my friends wearing one of my angel wings necklace:

We make a pretty trio don't you think? :)

Here’s the necklace at close-up, it was bought in eBay around 2007 I think.

This one might look familiar to you, I bought it in Mango Singapore. It’s not angel wings though, it’s a Pegasus wing necklace.

And my latest addition to my Wings family!

This was given to me by my good friend Jill. She knew I had a fascination for angel wings, and believe it or not she bought the wings from Quiapo and then fitted it up with ear hooks (or whatever you call it) for me. I didn’t ask how much it is because that would be rude, but for my readers unfamiliar with Quiapo, it’s not a pretty place to be, but there are a lot of fashion hotspots there (just make sure to keep your wallets close to you).

Anyway, it’s Monday again tomorrow (ugh!), I bought a new jacket (bad! I know!), and a pair of shoes today but I’ll save that for another post. I have so many overdue posts! But I think I’ll have time to catch up on my blog posts next week. Til then, have a great week! :)

Angels in the workshop

I took this picture last year methinks. Me and my family went to Pampanga and stopped by a workshop where they make statues that you see in churches. I took a couple of pics in colored, and a couple in black and white. Here’s one of the shots I took in the latter.

Picture Book: Chinatown

Friday, August 28th, 2009

I recently found out I can’t have a life til’ Thursday. My doctor advises lotsa bedrest. But what she doesn’t know is that staying in one position the whole damn day will just stress me out. *sigh*

On the bright side, my wifi unit is working again. *twirl*. Hehehe.

Here’s a couple of pictures of Singapore’s Chinatown that I’ve been meaning to share.  Hope y’all like it.

Twilight and Schizo Weather

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

Are you as excited about Twilight’s second installment, New Moon as much as I am? But frankly speaking, Twilight the movie wasn’t very good noh? It was more of a fashion music video than a movie. Although I can’t really classify myself as a Twi-fan, I remember going gaga over the books even before the height of the fever. And I thought I was the only one losing touch with reality with those books! Call it my guilty pleasure. Haha.

Here’s a recent spread from Glamour Magazine featuring the women of Twilight, sans the most popular of them all, Kristen Stewart, I wonder why?

Ashley Green, recently fired Rachelle LeFevre, Nikki Reed, and newcomer Noot Seear

I wonder why they replaced Rachelle LaFevre? I mean yes they stated reasons but why would they tell us the truth anyway? She’s gorgeous. I can see why they gave her the role of Victoria although her face is too angelic for it.

I’m sorry I don’t really heart her replacement Bryce Dallas Howard.

She’s pretty too. But I guess I’ve gotten too used with Rachelle LaFevre, but who knows? Maybe she’ll play the part better. :)

The weather lately has been so schizophrenic, but mostly wet and cold. I’d love to warm my hands (and my tummy) with these:

I took this photo in Singapore’s Chinatown. I haven’t been posting much about Singapore lest you get sick of reading it. Hahaha. Maybe next time.

I’m off today to attend an event in Trinoma for Taters’ anniversary and G.I. Joe screening, and buy one of my gifts for the boyfriend’s birthday. I hope he likes it! Wish me well.  I’ll try to post more stuff next time, especially in the realm of fashion, but work, both freelance and full-time, has been soooo hectic.  Have a great weekend! :)
