Maldita, Rocky, and Lucy

In my previous post I posted a picture of the shapeless blouse from Maldita. I wore it today for work and after-work coffee chica with friends. I got so many compliments over it! Here it is as worn:

Yeah I know, it’s time for a digital camera and a tripod. My laptop is practically attached to my hip, meaning I just don’t don’t have enough muscle power to lug around my laptop AND DSLR everyday. Plus, I’m camera shy, although it’s not evident in the picture above. Haha. I’m thinking of gifting myself a slim and light digicam and just save my DSLR for travel, events, or whenever I feel shutterbugging.

It was raining so hard so the boyfriends were forced to drive us to our chica date. Hahaha. Anyway,  one of the  boyfriends’ current project is training a Cocker Spaniel. My boyfriend owns a Siberian Husky named Rocky, so-called because his mom is a Stallone fan. They once adopted an askal (dog from the streets), which they named Rambo, but Rocky kept beating him up so they had to return poor Rambo to his original owner. :(

Me and my friend had girltalk while the boyfriends talked about work which for some reason led to a discussion on pets.

Pets are wonderful don’t you agree? My theory is pets remain adorable no matter how old they get because they’re like babies that never age. Unlike humans that are so hard to please as they age, pets when trained and cared for tend to become loyal followers who go berserk-happy over a ball, a shoe, or whatever piece of junk they fancy.

Here’s Rocky. I love him but I wish I could have seen him when he was a puppy. He’s only a year and nine months old, but he’s such a big and strong dog! My boyfriend is quite a big guy, 6ft and 200 pounds yet Rocky can knock him down! Rocky’s fond of rough play which includes using human hands as a teether (he doesn’t actually sink his teeth in, it’s just his way of being affectionate). I only pet him when he’s too sleepy or lazy to move.

Meet Rocky!

I’d like to get a dog also eventually (I want a pug or a Lab), but Lucy will get jealous. Lucy is our cat, but I don’t think she knows she’s not a member of our species.

Lucy's butt!

Hahaha. Lucy is 12 years old. She grew up in Illinois. My grandmother brought her home here in the Philippines. We love her a lot, and fear the day we have to say goodbye. :( She recently lost a lot of weight and has been acting eccentric lately. Not sickly, or any manifestation of old age. Just weird. Let’s just say she likes her cat food, but is regressing to her primal ways. Hahaha. Here’s her at close up:

Lucy, a natural model :)

How about you guys? Do you have a pet and what’s the weirdest thing you have ever seen your pet do?

I try not to work in front of Lucy, whenever she feels that you’re doing something ‘serious’, she’ll get up and lie on top of your keyboard, or she makes a bed out of important-looking documents. Rocky in the meanwhile does a lot of weird stuff, I don’t have all day to blog about it. Hahaha.

How The Big Guy told me it’s time to put my ATM away…

…and stop from shopping. I collected a rather plump Talent Fee last week and I thought “how about a little shopping to reward myself for a job well done?”, the question turned into “how about buying this top to reward myself for a job well done? Oooooh… and those jeans…. and that hat…”. You can imagine how many days I’ve been rewarding myself. Hahaha.

Well, fate put an end to that today… BY BLOCKING MY EFFIN’ ATM!!! I won’t go into details on how it happened, but a glitch in their system blocked my atm card. I have to wait for 24 hours for the system to refresh itself and for me to be able to withdraw any cash. As of now, I have like P20.00 and a lone SG dollar in my wallet. Since I can be lazy at times, I figured that the thought of hauling myself to the atm machine is the nearest thing to a firewall I can put between me and my cash.

But before I was so inconveniently blocked, here are a couple of the stuff I bought. .

Switchnation tee P350

Switchnation tee P350

I saw this tee two to three weeks ago in GH, but I didn’t buy it because it was a bit too expensive that time. I couldn’t get the tee out of my mind. It’s actually a shirt for guys, but who cares? Love it! Imma’ wear it whenever I feel under the weather or I know that I’m unfortunately bound to run into an annoying character on a particular day.

I bought the shoelaces because I thought it would be an easy way to perk up my Chucks. I couldn’t resist buying the ‘Hands Off’ bagtag, so cute and in-your-face. I told myself reasonably that my potential new job (which I’m still mulling over) requires a lot of travelling. So why not a bagtag? At the back of the bagtag is the usual name, address, blah blahs so your luggage can find its way home.

My favorite purchase so far is this LBD from Pink Manila.

I recently lost a lot of weight. And I do mean a lot. For the first time ever since the advent of my adolescence which gave me HIPS and THUNDER THIGHS, I am now able to enjoy fitting into clothes without jumping around to fit into my jeans. I love this LBD since I may not have the legs, but I do have a waist, and this dress has a sash at the back which enables me to tighten it in the waist area. The zipper front gives it a rather biker chick look, and the color and cut makes it perfect for the office and semi-formal affairs for my potential new job!

I also bought my first ever denim mini:

It’s one size too big for me, but my bf said this fits me better than the other skirt I was eyeing.

Anyway, I also bought these the other day from Maldita in Shang. Most of the mid-year sales are wrapping up, and I couldn’t resist taking advantage of what’s left of it. I have always been an ardent follower of Maldita, and although the clothes are a bit pricey, they are never stingy when it comes to sales, hence what you’ll see below were both purchased for a combined amount of just a little below P1000.

The blouse looks shapeless here, but it looked amazing when I tried it on, Morticia Adams-like, in a good way. Haha. Morticia Adams as a teen in the 21st century. The jeans fit really well, like I said I lost a lot of weight, and I can’t wear most of my jeans anymore so I’ve been wearing leggings, shorts, and dresses lately.

Yes, Lord, I will stop shopping for the meantime now. But I haven’t bought shoes yet… so… okay okay! Will stop. For the meantime. :)
