Sick but still went crazy for crocs

Category: Events, Retail Therapy, WIN THIS!Minay @ 8:06 pm

I’m sorry for the lack of updates, but I’m SERIOUSLY sick and I have to take some time off to do all the med stuff, check-ups, and whatnots. That only goes without saying that I have to take some time off work too! NOT! (Well for several projects I’m doing I can’t really take time off).

Anyhoo, before I was dramatically rushed to the hospital, I went to the launch of ‘Crazy for Crocs’ in Hard Rock Cafe Makati. Hehehe.

While working for a sports magazine I remembered handling a LOTTA crocs, and I’m trying to figure out now why I like Crocs, and it only hit me now that I liked working with Crocs people before. Take note that I handled a lot of PRs and products to the point that I can look at a pair of rubbershoes and just know the brand, even sans the logo. Crocs people are plain nice. I have two pairs, and another one which I acquired through a review I made for them.

Going back, one thing I forgot to tell you about me being sick was it pretty hurts to take a deep breath, sit-up, and LAUGH now. So it didn’t help that the special guests for the night were Moy Moy Palaboy and I-know-this-is-rude-but-his-partner’s-name-always-escapes-me-and-I’m-too-lazy-to-google-it.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the pair ever since I first saw them perform in Bubble Gang, but I was laughing and crying at the same time during their performance. hahaha.

Regarding the Crazy For Crocs, it’s actually a competition composed of three main components: an online video challenge, a Grand Raffle, and a Pick-a-Prize. At the heart of the campaign is the online video challenge where people can show their fun and crazy side in youtube. You can use any video equipment, even your phone!

Contestants will be tasked with performing various Crocs-themed video challenges to be issued by the DJs from Magic 89.9’s Good Times radio show.

New challenges will be announced each week and each month on the official contest website, crazy4crocs.com. Participants will have to beat these challenges and capture this on video. These videos will then be uploaded to YouTube, after which they will be posting as an official entry on the contest website.

Contestants to the weekly challenges will get the chance to win prizes such as Canon digital cameras, while contestants to the monthly challenges stand to win P100,000 each month. Oh *looks at fingernails* you might also get the chance to win a brand new Honda Jazz!

For more information, visit the website indicated above.

Now, in the loot!

I’m not going to do a rundown ‘coz there are so many. But I particularly like the red jelly camera. So cute and yummy looking!

Anyway, I’m sorry to say that I had to leave early that night and had myself hauled to the hospital. Please bear with me if I can’t update the posts for the meantime. But I don’t want to end this on a sad note, so guys, enjoy the long weekend, make that video ‘coz it’s no skin off your nose and you have everything to gain.

Happy weekend everyone! Down a margarita for me! *hugs*

The Perfect White Shirt

For as long as I remember, I’ve always loved white shirts. It’s easy to pair with anything! A white shirt with my favorite jeans paired with spiky heels and I instantly have a grunge-glam look. Paired with my favorite rubbershoes, and I get the sporty chic look. A white tee with a boyfriend blazer and leggings… the possibilities are endless! Not to mention, it’s so easy to accessorize a white shirt.

But it’s hard to look for THE perfect white shirt. The ones in tiangges just don’t have the right cut or made of terrible material that it practically falls apart after one wash. Then there was Get Laud! which offered cheap plain blouses that seems to be made of stronger stuff, but I got annoyed with the discrepancies with the sizes and the materials after a while. But kudos to them for providing chic dresses in such affordable prices.

I have tons of white shirts. Two of which came from Get Laud!, a v-neck one which I bought from a tiangge (bazaar), and here’s one that I bought from Cotton On in Singapore. It’s plain, but I really like how it fits me in the right places.

The thing with Cotton On clothes, it’s so simply styled but the fit is so amazing that you’d wish you have a branch in your country. Huhuhu. Like me. If I get the moolah to franchise a clothing business, it would be Cotton On. I wish I had the cash to shop during the time we were there, but I only bought the shirt because I was just disposing my remaining SG$. :(

My sister really liked the stuff we bought for her from Cotton On. I don’t have a picture of the clothes, but one of the tops that we bought are in their website

See the floral top that the girl is wearing? That was the design of one of the tops we bought. Also, they have these great deals such as you buy two boyfriend shirts for S$40, but if you buy only one you have to pay the retail price of S$25 each. And if you reach a certain amount, you can buy a pair of shades or flip flops for S$5! I promise I’ll franchise this brand in the distant possibility I’ll get rich enough to do so.

Cotton On also has a lingerie line that borders more on quirky/sexy rather than Victoria’s Secret romantic/seductive style. I seriously wanted to buy this nightie with a comic design but I had to choose between that or the Mango bag. The latter won. I seriously regret it up til now.

Anyway, it’s nice that we have a local brand here in the Philippines which offers plain and designed tees made with quality material but without the high tag price, namely The Perfect White Shirt. If you’re Pinoy, I’m sure you’ve seen their shirts around.

Yes, I’m a Proud Thomasian. Hehe. I have a couple of their plain tees as well. I recently featured them here. As a thank you, they kindly sent me these

The story of how creators Ryan and Philippe formed The Perfect White Shirt venture is really cool so click the link above to read about it. It’s amazing how DOING SOMETHING NICE FOR YOUR GIRLFRIEND CAN PRODUCE A LUCRATIVE BUSINESS! Hahaha.
