If you’re a pinoy blogger, chances are you’ve written about Boracay and I’m following suit

Category: TravelMinay @ 4:58 pm

I know, I’ve been one b-a-a-a-d blogger. Haven’t posted anything in nearly two months (!).

Anyhoo, I know that my previous post was a bit gloomy. I blame them hormones. thankfully, there’s work, and lots of travel to keep me busy. One of which was an event held at our famed island (If you’re not Filipino and you’re reading this, do visit the place I’m about to mention)…

…Boracay.

Sucks though because it was a bit rainy and windy when I was there.  Although, I did get to go just to have dinner, similar to my El Nido, Palawan sojourn. Hahaha.

I found myself at the island for the Flavors of Spain; this is Fuego Hotels & Properties’ annual celebration of Spanish cuisine. It was the perfect setting, luxurious surroundings, powdery sand, wine in hand… bliss… AND one of the reasons it was held in Boracay was to launch Fuego’s newest addition to their roster of luxury properties, the 7Stones Boracay Suites.

I love hotels, really, they are my natural habitat. It’s like you get to start over again, even for a trivial while. But what I like best about 7Stones was not my condolike room (fab! fab!):

…what I liked best was its location. The party place in Boracay is definitely White Beach. Yes, White Beach may be nicer because the beach area is bigger and the sand is powder-perfect; but Bulabog Beach, where 7stones is located has its own charm due to the sense of isolation it gives. Kiteboarders frequent the place since it’s less populated than White Beach and they can zoom around to their heart’s content.

Believe it…

…I did go to El Nido just to have dinner. Hahaha. But of course we made the most of it by cramming in as much as island hopping, sunbathing, and activities as we could.

The resort, aside from being known for its number of activities available such as diving, snorkeling, rock climbing kayaking, etc., is also known for it’s being eco-friendly. Now El Nido Resorts is also aiming to become a gourmet destination (and yes, their food is FAB!), thus the reason why I went there to have dinner, for a winemaker’s dinner to be exact.

So many forks...

So many forks...

It was a five-course meal! So of course my diet went out of the window. haha. The delicious wine were provided by Cape Jaffa Wines while the yummy food was masterminded by El Nido’s chefs along withthe chefs of Kai Restaurant (in Greenbelt 5), and Lemon Cafe (in Bora). I apologize that I do not have any pictures of the food since I really am a lousy photographer when it comes to poor lighting. But the meals were scrumptious and went well with the wines it was paired with. :) I had a lot to drink that day (4 cocktails, and several glasses of wine), but I never felt sick, and I have never been big when it comes to drinking.

Dinner was lovely, which we finished with a nightcap at the resort’s poolside bar. It was a lovely, lovely, LOVELY evening spent over a glass of red with new friends. :)

BTW,we stayed at Lagen Island, probably El Nido Resorts’ most luxurious resort which I would have never been able to afford to go to on my own!

Lagen Island has three accommodations you can choose from, the Forest Cottages, and for a bit more pampering, the Forest Suites, or the Water Cottages. I was given a Water Cottage with a stunning view of the ocean of course!

That’s it for now. I have so many pictures and so many stories and must-sees in El Nido, but this is the kind of place that one blog entry will not be able to encapsulate. My life is kind of in a fast-track now, thus the lack of updates. Until my next entry then. :)

Why do we not have Urban Outfitters?!

Why?!

I LOVE!!!

Deena & Ozzy Studded Loop Belt, $38

Deena & Ozzy Studded Loop Belt, $38

I seriously think studs are on its way in. But I also have the feeling it’s going to fly over my head and straight to Divisoria. Nevermind. But I really love how people can now dress in ordinary oversized shirts and think ‘fasyon’ rather than ‘pambahay’. The loop belt is really nice. I also found this in their website:

Cowl Drape Banded Bottom Tank, $32

Cowl Drape Banded Bottom Tank, $32

I like the combination of the tank with the slightly ‘mannish’ pants which I also heart, they made the outfit look sexy without revealing a lot of skin. I hope that someday, some taipan or whoever has gobs of money lying around somewhere would bring these brand in the Philippines.

Speaking of studs, I saw these studded Miu Miu boots at Sea of Shoes‘ blog.

It’s so beautiful, it makes me want to burst into tears. :(

Here’s another one I’d love to have and pair with boyfriend jeans and a white tank top.

I can probably kick a couple of asses with these shoes noh? Lovesit!

Then I came across this one, I’m really a sucker for the ‘combat’ look.

Lovely boots. Haaaaay. I’ve been unconsciously searching for a pair of combat boots like these, but for $388, I don’t think sooooo…

Weekend’s over people. SAD SAD SAD. Back to the real world of deadlines tomorrow. Although I hear August 5 was declared a non-working holiday.

Nothing like a relaxing cup of mocha and a slice of apple crumble to chase away the blues on a rainy day doncha think?
