Random Vanity

Friend: Don’t laugh, but now that I’m finally sort of seeing someone, guys are hitting on me.

Me: Hahaha. Just go with the flow meh dear.

Friend: But I don’t know how to act on it, and is it cheating if I flirt back now that I’m sort of seeing someone but we’re not an item yet?

Me: Do it while you’re still 25.

Friend: What does that have to do with it?

Me: Because you still have the skin to prove it.

Rockwell Multiply Artisan Bazaar

Category: UncategorizedMinay @ 10:38 pm

Admittedly, although I’ve shopped online before, I still prefer the traditional way of shopping summarized as follows: Scouring malls unmindful of painful feet. Keeping tabs on favorite pieces. Hiding favorite pieces under racks of unfavorable pieces. Credit card bills. A month’s salary blown on a piece of metal and leather. Buyer’s remorse. Ahh another successful shopping expedition!

But I do love browsing Multiply stores. I have even featured a couple of sellers in Entrepreneur Digital, click here to get tips on setting up shop in Multiply.

But oh my, some of the best merchants in Multiply who sell handcrafted products will be having a bazaar in Rockwell! Coolness!

Project Runway Philippines Season 2

Category: Beauty, Retail Therapy, UncategorizedMinay @ 9:22 am

I LOVE PROJECT RUNWAY! I watch it over and over again. When the Philippine version of the series hit the country, I was very pleased because a lot of young designers here who might not have the budget or the chance to showcase their talent will finally have the chance to do so. However, the first season was kind of a disappointment for me. I could already tell who was going to make it to the top three, with Veejay or Aries as my bets. Aries won  :)

When I saw the first episode of season 2, wowza! This batch is WAAAAAY better than the last one. In the first episode of the first season alone, you could already round up who might win, but this season it’s going to be a bit hard to choose AND eliminate.

My favorite this season is Russell Villafuerte aka The Fashion Rebel (daw) … so far. Who knows? It might change since the majority of them are good. I could remember in the American version my favorite was Korto, but in the final runway show, Leanne was the obvious winner.

The first challenge for the designers were to design a dress that best represents their design philosophy… using the clothes that they were wearing. I’ve yet to find a photo of Russell’s creation, but I immediately zoned in on him. He made a dress with this kind of Union Jack-esque design in the front. Very street fashion and sophisticated at the same time. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that every girl likes a bad boy… especially a bad boy who can sew her a killer dress! Hahaha.

Stay tuned!

On a fact of life: wrinkles

Category: Beauty, UncategorizedMinay @ 2:56 am

I bet you’ve seen an ‘ad-less’ advertisement around the metro delivering the generic spiel addressing Mother Nature’s will for women: the inevitability of wrinkles.  This particular spiel though, promises 92% less fine lines after a 6-week use. It also didn’t say which product was responsible for this. Earlier this year, a skin care team rounded up 50 Filipino women, aged 30 to 55 years old, to test their product on.

The women went through an assessment session with a dermatologist who made the  ugly truth known to each of the women.

The ugly truth TWICE over. I can imagine myself as that derma, hahaha.

Me:You have wrinkles.

Woman: wh-a-a-a?

Me: What’s more.

Woman: No! Don’t tell me! *covers ears*

(cue “heartbeat” music)

Me: I can actually tell you HOW MANY. *lets out a maniacal laugh*

Woman: *runs screaming into the night*

Hehehe. Anyhoo, these women were told to use a “mystery” product for six weeks in place of their usual moisturizer. This product, it turns out, is the yet to be introduced to the public Celeteque Advanced Anti-Wrinkle Facial Moisturizer. It was only after the challenge that the women were told what product they were using.

Celeteque True Results Challenge

Celeteque True Results Challenge

Yesterday, I attended the launch at Mag:net Cafe Boni High Street where Celeteque introduced the beautiful women who attested to the effectiveness of the product.

The boyfriend has a new habit, he points to ads and billboards that doesn’t make sense, but sure does sound good to gullible people. Including me. Although that habit of critiquing billboards and ads…

…he got that habit from me. hahaha.

Anyhoo, I think Celeteque is sincere in their claim although I’ve yet to try it out. It takes a lotta guts to proclaim AND market your product to have HONEST-TO-GOODNESS results in anti-aging.

Celeteque Advanced

Celeteque Advanced

A friend pointed out “how did they measure the ‘92%’ decrease in wrinkles?’

Well, Celeteque says that this is the average decrease in wrinkles that they have observed from the women. To push the envelope a little further, they had the guests of the launch have the skin around their eyes counted for wrinkles *gasp!* by a derma. A professional photographer took a photo of each guest for them to be able to keep track of the decrease. Glad to still have my 25-year-old skin and five years to enjoy it, I said my thanks and left with a press kit and triple-stapled loot bag which forced me to take a peek only when I got to the car.

Inside were a magnifying glass, a bag, and some samples, but no Celeteque Advanced which was strange since what’s the magnifying glass for?

I chose not to ask anymore but Toni, the girl who invited me, did text later in the afternoon to ask if I got a Celeteque Advanced in my kit. I guess some of us were not able to get one. When I said no, she was nice enough to ask for my address where they could send my sample to and finally make use of the magnifying glass. Hahaha. I’ll share my experience with it once I receive the sample, till then, toodles!

Update: Toni sent me the sample already, so far I’m loving it. I generally don’t like moisturizers because it makes my skin itch. Celeteque Advanced so far has done nothing but ingratiate itself to my good side. Which is kind of hard to find. But it’s found nonetheless. Am I making any sense? It’s 1am and I have tons of articles to write. Byers!
